Journaliste Kerstin Schweighofer van Deutsche Welle spreekt Thomas Rau en Evelien Rodenburg over ‘nachhaltiges Bauen’, duurzaam bouwen dus. Er komen onderwerpen als betonkernactivering, leem als innovatieve bouwstof, warmte-koude opslag, C02-neutrale en energieopleverende gebouwen ter sprake. Als voorbeeld hiervoor noemt Thomas Rau het project ‘Le Carre de Soie’ in het Franse Lyon. Dit woon-winkel-kantoor complex zal na zijn oplevering in 2011 een van de wereldwijd eerste gebouwen zijn die meer energie opwekken dan zij zelf nodig hebben. Zeker op deze schaal zijn plusenergie gebouwen nog heel zeldzaam.

Journalist Kerstin Schweighofer from Deutsche Welle radio speaks with Thomas Rau and Evelien Rodenburg about ‘nachhaltiges Bauen’, i.e. sustainable architecture. Topics of the conversation are concrete core activation, clay as innovative building material, the geothermal heat pump, CO2 neutral and energy-generating buildings. Thomas Rau uses ‘Le Carre de Soie’ in the French city of Lyon as an example. This residential-retail-office complex will, upon its completion in 2010, be the one of the world’s first buildings that generates more energy than it requires for its own operation. Certainly on this scale plus energy buildings are very scarce.
